Thomas Leonard Jones


Leonard Jones, 78, of Mebane passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 following many years of declining health.
Mr. Jones was born in Graham County, N.C. to James Paul Jones and Icie Burdell Roberts Jones, both deceased. He was the loving husband of Lillie Jones for over 50 years.

Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith. He retired as an operator from the textile industry. He enjoyed taking his dogs and going bird hunting, tinkering around on his piano and organ at home and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife Lillie of Mebane; survivors include his son, Thomas Jones and his wife Debra of Mebane; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 10 brothers, J.E. Jones, Marvin Jones, Paul Junior Jones, Phillip Jones, Mike Jones, Norman Jones, Randall Jones, Randy Jones, Doyle Jones and Darrell Jones; and 4 sisters, Mildred Shears, Margie Smith, Doris Pruitt and Barbara Epperson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Loy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Green Valley hospital for all the wonderful care given to Mr. Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Valley Hospital, 801 Green Valley Rd. Greensboro, NC 27408.
