Icie Burdell Roberts Jones

   BURLINGTON — Mrs. Icie Burdell Roberts Jones, 91, of 4389 Rascoe-Dameron Road, Burlington, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Hospice Home after three years of declining health and two weeks of critical illness.

   A native of Graham County, she was the wife of the late James Paul Jones and the daughter of the late James Jefferson Roberts and the late Mary Elvira Ellis Roberts.

   Mrs. Jones was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church.

   Mrs. Jones is survived by four daughters, Mildred Shearer (Tom) of Gibsonville, Margie Smith (Gary) of Cherry Grove, Doris Pruitt (Larry) of Altamahaw-Ossipee and Barbara Epperson (Dwight) of Burlington; 11 sons, James E. Jones of Burlington, Thomas Leonard Jones (Lilly) of Caswell County, Marvin Jones (Virginia) of Caswell County, Paul Junior Jones (Debbie) of Burlington, Phillip Jones (Bay) of Yanceyville, Michael Jones (Shirley) of Gibsonville, Norman Jones of the home, Randall Jones (Teresa) of Caswell County, Randy Jones (Robin) of Caswell County, Doyle Jones (Kim) of Caswell County and Darrell Jones (Benita) of Caswell County; 33 grandchildren; 42 greatgrandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

   In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

   The funeral service will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Loy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   The family will receive friends Sunday, March 31 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. At other times they will be at the residence.

   The family would like to express their gratitude to Gail Perkins, Meals on Wheels, the employees of the ARMC Cancer Center and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the special care that was given to Mrs. Jones and the kindness shown to them during this very difficult time.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
