ELON — Leland Melvin “Mel” Chrismon, 80, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at his residence.
He was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late Lee Boyd Chrismon and the late Aubrey Leah Powell Chrismon.
Mel was the president and owner of Data Management Corporation in Greensboro. He was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church. Mr. Chrismon served six months active duty training with the U.S. Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mildred “Millie” Spencer Chrismon, of the home; brother-in-law, Malcolm McCracken of Mt. Vernon Springs; niece, Susan McCracken of Boone; nephew, David McCracken of Sanford; and a cousin, Bartlett Powell of Trinity, Fla.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in the Shallow Ford Christian Church cemetery
by the Rev. Steve Regan and the Rev. Jim Owen. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 1263 Shallowford Church Road, Elon, NC 27244.
