ELON, NC - Mildred Spencer Chrismon, age 93, of Elon passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Mrs. Chrismon was born on August 28, 1926 to Robert Lee and Lillian Beatrice Rush Spencer. She was a graduate of Asheboro High School and was crowned Miss Randolph County in 1945. Mildred was formerly employed with the Cetwick Plant in Asheboro and later went to work for Burlington Industries in Greensboro where she served as the private secretary to the chief engineer. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Chrismon.
She is survived by her brothers, John Spencer and wife Wendy of Asheboro and Marvin Clay Spencer and wife Margaret of Winston-Salem; sister, Betty S. Warren of Knightdale; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Charlotte United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1182 Charlotte Church Road in Asheboro with Rev . . Cindy Ramirez officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
