George worked in his father’s (Henry Hubbard ) business, he aquired in 1895 a 1/4 interest from Billy Apple in a steam saw, feed and flour mill with John Freeland Sutton, George L. Simpson and Judge Simpson.
In 1907 he bought the remaining 3/4 interest. The mill operated until 1910.
He served as a U.S. Marshall from 1897 to 1900.
After this he operated a distillery until it became illegal in 1908.
During 1929 and 1930 he worked as a supervisor of prison labor for the county of Alamance.
During the mid 30’s and 40’s he worked as a warehouse tradesman.
