SNOW CAMP — William Howard Tickle Jr., 65, of 339 Lambe Road, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 24, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Tickle was born March 23, 1942, in Alamance County, to the late William Howard Tickle Sr. and Hazel Woodlief Tickle . He was retired after many years of facility service from UNC Chapel Hill. He was an avid golfer and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Whitsett.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mrs. Linda Tickle of the home; a daughter and son, Tina Tickle and Tim Tickle , both of Snow Camp; a daughter-in-law, Lorie Tickle of Burlington; five grandchildren, Joshua Gerringer, Ryan Moore, Michael Moore, Jonathan Tickle , and Matthew Gerringer; four sisters, Edna Haithcock, Janie Bennet, Nancy Owens, all of Gibsonville, and Betty Haithcock of Graham; two brothers, Bobby Tickle of Gibsonville and Tommy Tickle of Whitsett.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Tickle III, who passed away in 2001.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Skenes. Interment will follow at the Gibsonville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
