Annie Lou Huffines Ross
   ELON — Annie Lou Huffines Ross, 80, of Elon passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Hospice Home. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Kernodle Huffines and the wife of 59 years to the late Robert “Bobby” Hayes Ross Jr.

   Annie Lou was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Christian Church for over 65 years. She was a member of the Women’s Circle and was the assistant treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Home Extension Club of Caswell County. Annie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

   She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Lee Ross and wife, Debra of Elon and Phil Moore Ross and wife, Leesa of Burlington; grandchildren, Matthew Hayes Ross, Mary Samantha Ross, Julie Diane Ross and David Alexander Ross; sisters, Martha Howard and husband, Bruce of Raleigh and Rachel Page and husband Winford of Elon; brothers, Grover Huffines and wife, Ellen of Burlington and Zannie Huffines and wife, Debbie of Sandston,Va.

   She was preceded in death by her husband,

   parents,

   brother,

   John William Huffines and a sister-inlaw, Ruth Huffines.

   A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Bethel Christian Church by Pastor Darrell Massey with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the son Eddie’s home in Elon.

   Memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church Building Fund or to the Children’s Playground Fund.
