Robert “Bobby” Ross Jr.
ELON — Robert Hayes “Bobby” Ross, Jr., age 81, of 3655 Kerr’s Chapel Road, died Friday, August 24, 2012, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several weeks of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Robert Hayes Ross, Sr. and the late Lucille Moore Ross and was married for over 58 years to Mrs. Annie Lou Huffines Ross, who survives. He was the owner and operator of R.H. Ross General Contracting, was a retired farmer and longtime member of Bethel Christian Church. Bobby loved bluegrass music and liked playing his own guitar.
Mr. Ross is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Eddie Lee Ross and his wife, Debra, of Elon and Phil Moore Ross and his wife, Leesa, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Matthew Hayes Ross, Mary Samantha Ross, Julie Diane Ross and David Alexander Ross; a sister, Betsy Ross Mc-Farling of Providence, NC; and a brother, William “Bill” Ross of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alyse Ross Jenkins and Sarah Ann Ross Saunders.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 Monday, August 27, 2012, at Bethel Christian Church by Rev.BarryLane.Intermentwill follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the son, Eddie’s home, 501 Stoney Mountain Road, Elon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Christian Church c/o the Building Fund, 595 Baynes Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
