Mr. Everette Gerringer
BURLINGTON — Mr. Everette R. Gerringer, 76, of 725 Porterfield Drive, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at his home
after four months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Lorraine Whitfield Gerringer, who survives, and the son of Mr.
Lyman David Gerringer and Mrs. Fannie Ross Gerringer, both deceased. He was the retired part owner of Eric Inc. He was
a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ, where he has served as a
deacon and trustee.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Terry Gerringer Ciccone of Fayetteville and Mrs.
Connie Gerringer Smithwick of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Wyrick and Mrs. Ruth Thompson, both of
Burlington, and Mrs. Ethel Cable of Elon College; two brothers, Mr. Boyd Gerringer and Mr. L.D. Gerringer, both of
Burlington; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Marvin Gerringer.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Shallow Ford United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phil Hardy, pastor
of Union Ridge United Church of Christ, and Layman Boyd Sutton of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ. The body
will be at the funeral home until 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.
