Lyman David Gerringer
     Final rites for Lyman Gerringer of Burlington, route 4, who died on January 8, were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2:00 from the Shallowford Christian church by the Rev. L. L. Wyrick and the Rev. G. C. Crutchfield. Music was by the church choir. Interment was in the church cemetery.
     Pallbearers were: Claude C. Cable, R. G. Brown, A. B. Pollard, B. A. Barber. J. W Clark and J. T. Faucette.
     The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Glynden Moore and Miss Onie May Wyrick, and were carried by: Mesdames R. F. Crawford, W. E. Collins, V. O. Huey, Claude Cable, G. M. McCoy, John Reiber, Wm. Atwater, W. H. Jones, C. W. Whitaker, Nora Parks, Blanche Lea, A. P. Truitt, J. E. Wilkins, C. E. Putnam, Eugene Hodge, W. L. Wyrick, J. V. Tickle Jr., Dwight Tickle, J. D. Wyrick, John Murray an Misses Norma Cable, Ruth Wyrick, Dorothy Sutton, Frances Wright, Daisy Blanchard, Nannie Jones and Ruby Wyrick.

Lyman Gerringer, 49, Takes Own Life At Home Near Here
Funeral Services Will Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon; Inquest Unnecessary Reports Coroner.
     Lyman David Gerringer, 49, of the Glen Raven section of the county, took his own life yesterday [snipped for privacy].
     The incident was described as a clear case of suicide by Dr. R. M. Troxler, Alamance county coroner, who investigated the affair. No inquest was necessary, the coroner reported.
     No information was available today as to the reason for the act of suicide by Gerringer, who was well known in the vicinity in which he lived. The body was found behind a barn near the home.
     Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Shallow Ford Christian church, where the deceased was a member, with Rev. L. L. Wyrick and Rev. G. C. Crutchfield, the officiating ministers. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
     Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gerringer, the deceased was born in this county and has lived here for practically his entire life. The body will be removed from a local funeral establishment late this afternoon to the residence on the Burlington-Ossipee road.
     Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie Ross Gerringer, three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Cable of Elon College, Mrs. Elmer Wyrick of Elon College, and Miss Ruth Gerringer of the home; three sons, Boyd Gerringer of Burlington, Route 4, Everett and L. D. Gerringer, Jr., both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. L. M. Crouse of Burlington, Route 4, and Mrs. R. B. Hensley of Elon College; two half sisters, Mrs. W. R. Moore, Burlington, Route 4, and Mrs. L. T. Rudd, Elon College, Route 2; one brother, Hurley Gerringer of New Bern, four half brothers, W. L. Gerringer of Glen Raven, J. F. and P. B. Gerringer of Burlington, Route 4, and G. M. Gerringer of Burlington, Route 2; stepmother, Mrs. J. H. Gerringer of Burlington, Route 4, and three grandchildren.
