Fannie Ross Gerringer Crouse
Mrs. Fannie Ross Gerringer Crouse, 82, of Rt. 10, Burlington died Saturday after a brief illness following two years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, Mrs. Crouse was the widow of the late Lyman David Gerringer, deceased 1940, and the late Lester M. Crouse, deceased 1960; and the daughter of the late A. J. and Ruth Story Ross.
Mrs. Crouse was a longtime active member of the Shallowford United Church of Christ where she was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, ladies Bible class member and a life member of Women's Fellowship.
The final rites will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Shallowford United Church of Christ. Conducting the service will be the Rev. Richard M. Peterson, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Cable of Rt. 3, Elon College, Mrs. Eva Wyrick and Mrs. Ruth Thompson, both of Rt. 10, Burlington; three sons, Boyd Gerringer of Burlington, Everette Gerringer of Rt. 4, Burlington; L. D. Gerringer of Rt. 1, Elon College; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ilene Baker and Mrs. Alma Mae Greene of Rt. 10, Burlington; four step-sons, Uby Crouse of Swansboro, Clair Crouse of Graham, Roy Crouse of Rt. 10, Burlington, Ray Crouse of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Beckom of Rt. 4, Burlington, and Mrs. Ona Truitt of Rt. 10, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; one great great-grandchild; 12 step grandchildren; and 22 step great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Lowe Funeral Home until taken to the church an half hour before the service.
The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 pm. and also from 7 to 9 p.m. today. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mrs. Ruth Thompson, Highway 87 N.
