    BURLINGTON — Edna Susan Rice Montgomery  Mc-Adams, 90, of 124 Tarpley St., Apt. 128, died at 7:53 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005.

Edna Susan Rice Montgomery McAdams 
    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Edna Susan Rice Montgomery McAdams , 90, of 124 Tarpley St., Apt. 128, Burlington, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after 2 months of illness.
    A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin Rice  and Ossie Walker Massey Rice . Married twice, Mrs. McAdams  was the wife of the late William Howard Montgomery  for 43 years and the late Samuel Jack McAdams  for 11 years.
    A seamstress all of her life, Mrs. McAdams  was retired from Tower Mills and a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.
    Surviving are her daughters, Naomi Cates of Swepsonville, Shirley (Ervin) Iseley of Burlington, Barbara (Homer) Lawrence of Haw River, Sue (Larry) Davis of Mebane, and Bettye Montgomery  of Mebane; son Kenneth "Skinner" (Jexie) Montgomery  of Greensboro and special daughter in law Ida Montgomery  of Burlington; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight step-great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. McAdams  is also survived by her sisters Thelma (Carl) Farrington of Graham, and Lena Mahaley of Yanceyville.
    In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. McAdams  was preceded in death by her brothers Thomas Rice , Leo Rice , Julius Rice , Charlie Rice , Fred Rice  Robert Rice ; sisters Myrtle Mahaley and Nellie Mahaley.
    The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Tommy Willis and the Rev. Rick Chandler. Burial will follow in the Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
    The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 6 until 8 Monday evening. Other times they will be at the residence of Larry and Sue Davis, 712 S. Fifth St., Mebane.
    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
