Luther Powell Vest died Tuesday in a Pulaski hospital.
He was born at White Gate, Va. April 24, 1912, the son of John Covington Vest and Julia Thompson Vest, a retired National Gypsun Co. employee of 27 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Underwood Vest, two sons, Eugene Vest, Big Spring, Texas, Jay Vest, White Gate; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Kelly, White Gate, Mrs. Kirk Johnson, Pearisburg, Mrs. Tom Shelton, Dublin; three brothers, James J. Vest, Dublin; John Vest, Jr., Pembroke; Ross M. Vest, White Gate; five sisters, Mrs. Stuart Blackburn, Pulaski; Mrs. Walter Stafford, Staffordsville; Mrs. James King, Pulaski; Mrs. John Melvin, Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Donald Stewart, Pearsiburg; one half-sister, Mrs. W. A. Buchanan, Bluefield, Va; ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at A. Vest & Son....with burial in Stinson Cemetery. 470, Luther Powell Vest
