Warden Wilson Moyer, 83, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Moyer, the son of the late Albert Wilson and Nellie Lee Smith Moyer, was born 27 Nov 1921 at Holcomb, Missouri. A retired carpenter, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and watching baseball.
On Nov 23 1940, he married Berniece Bell Johnson at Campbell, Missouri. She survives..
Other survisors include eight children. Jane McGhee and husband Mick, of Defiance, Evelyn Casinger and husband Charles, of Poplar bluff, Carolyn Henry and husband Jim, of West Fork, Arkansas, David Moyer and wife Debbie of Poplar Bluff, Sharon Hoss and husband Wayne of Winfield, Missouri, Barbara Michel and husband Pete of Fairdealing, Linda Wilson and husband Calvin of Dexter, and Gwen Horner and husband Mike of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Mary Rabon and husband Lynn of Columbus, South Carolina, and Thelma Duncan of Arnold, Missouri, three brothers Yewell Moyer and wife Lila of Kearney, Missouri, Denzil Moyer and wife Joyce of Kansas City, Missouri, and Floyd Moyer and wife Wilma of Arnold, Missouri; 24 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Albert Wilson Moyer, three brothers Marvin Moyer, Virgil Moyer, and Johnson Owens, and two sisters Lois Crowe and Joyce Wilkerson.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Cochran Cemetery in Butler County. 470, Warden Wilson Moyer
