Paul Thomas Lewis

   GIBSONVILLE — Paul Thomas Lewis, 76, of Burke Club House Road, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at his home.

   A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Patricia Gerringer “Pat” Lewis and son of the late Dr. Walter Glenn Lewis, and grandson of the late Charlie Lee and Hattie Catherine Pettigrew Lewis.

   Mr. Lewis was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church, the Gibsonville Merchants Association, a former member of the Burlington Moose Lodge and the Gibsonville Jaycees. Paul graduated from Hargrave Military Academy and attended N.C. State University. He retired from Copeland Fabrics and later delivered flowers for Pat at her florist.

   Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Pat G. Lewis, of the home; sons, Paul Randall Lewis of Georgia and Walter Eric “Ricky” Lewis and wife, Elizabeth Younger Lewis, of Gibsonville; granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth and Erica Ruth Lewis; stepson, Brad Eugene Benfield and wife, Tracy Shepherd Benfield; step-granddaughter, London Marie Benfield; and sisters, Lida Coleman and Linda Stevens.

   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jonathan D. Marlowe and the Rev. David Gilbert. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

   Mr. Lewis will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and at other times at the residence.

   The family would like to thank Guilford Hospice, especially Mary, Beth and Jan, for their special care, and Richard Bober and Cristy from Care Scout.
