Wilbur B. Aldridge
BURLINGTON - Mr. Wilbur B. Aldridge, age 88, of 606 Trail Two, Burlington, NC, passed away after several years of declining health Sunday, March 29th, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born in Caswell County, NC, he was the son of the late Curry P. Aldridge and the late Daisy Terrell Aldridge.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Lois Butler Aldridge.
He was a devoted husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and the best daddy anyone could ask for.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and spent his life serving the Lord in many positions within the church. He was the first bishop of the Caswell ward, in which he served for 12 years. He was president of the Sunday school for many years and served in the Raleigh temple as long as his health permitted. He had a strong testimony of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, and was an example of goodness to all who knew him.
He was a quality control manager at Alamance Knit for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan, primarily baseball, his favorite team being the Atlanta Braves.
Mr. Aldridge is survived by 3 children, Val Aldridge (Michon), Shari Miles (Craige), Candyce Hinson (Bryant); his 9 grandchildren . , Christy Smith, Chad Lewis, Brian Miles, Julie King, Keith Nicks, Mindee Barton, Jessica Baxter, Emilee Taylor, Blake Aldridge; his 11 great-grandchildren, Natallie McCauley, Allison McCauley, Kayleigh Miles, Addison Lewis, Laura Rachel Lewis, Levi Payne, Khloee Barton, Brady Barton, Dalton Albertson, Katie Brown, Chase Nicks.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Myra Page (Lindsey) and Melva Aldridge.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Caswell Ward.
