Mrs. Eugenia Ann Nix Barber
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Eugenia Ann Nix Barber, 53, of 6148 Bethel Church Road, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at her home after a five-year illness.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of Mr. Alton T. Barber, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. William Fred Nix and Mrs. Nellie Laura Eugenia Summers Nix, who survive. She was a former school bus driver with Guilford County Schools. She was a member of Brightwood Christian Church and a former member of the Eastern Star and McLeansville Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors other than her husband of the home and her parents of Gibsonville include a daughter, Mrs. Anita Lynn (Rob) Broome of Gibsonville; a son, Mr. Alton T. “Ted” Barber Jr. of Gibsonville; two brothers, Mr. John William Nix of Elon College and Mr. Jerry Summers Nix, of Gibsonville; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at Brightwood Christian Church by the Rev. Delton Agnor, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and other times at the home.
