Mr. Clyde Benjamin Baker Sr.

BURLINGTON — Mr. Clyde Benjamin Baker, Sr., 81, of 331 NC 87 North, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at his home after a sudden illness.

A native of Hoke Co., NC he was the son of the late John Archie Baker and the late Mandy Irene Williams Baker and was married to the late Irene Crouse Baker who died in 2002. Mr. Baker worked for many years with Southern Railway and then later retired from Webco. He was a member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church and was in the Men’s Bible Class.

He is survived by one son, Clyde Benjamin Baker, Jr. of Spencer, NC and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ruth Freeman of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents along with one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Crutchfield, and three brothers, Ralph Baker, Cecil Baker, and Thomas Baker.

The funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Peoples Memorial Christian Church by the Rev. Jack Lemons and Mr. Jim Hogsett.

Interment will be at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of Mike Greene, 220 Westview Drive, Burlington. 3, Mr. Clyde Benjamin Baker Sr.
