Mrs. Janice Oakley Kenyon
MEBANE — Mrs. Janice Oakley Kenyon, 57, of 301 E. Clay St., died at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Duke University Medical Center after a 3-week illness.
Born in Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Warren Eddie Oakley and Mrs. Ruth Warren Oakley of Mebane, who survives. She was married to Jerry B. Kenyon Sr., who survives. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church as well as a faithful volunteer. She worked in Accounts Payable at LabCorp. She was a former employee of The May Apparel Group for 37 years.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include one son, Jerry B. Kenyon Jr. of Wilmington; two daughters, Mrs. Sherry Neese and husband, Tim, of Liberty, and Mrs. Tammy Yeatts and husband, Ron, of Mebane; one sister, Mrs. Trisha O. Lynch and husband, Murray, of Mebane; Grandchildren Jessica, Victoria, Brianna Neese, Maddison and Griffin Yeatts; four nieces, Heather and Sarah Lynch, Celeste Quinn and Kim Pope; and seven nephews, Justin Lynch, John Kenyon Jr., Eric Kenyon, Darrin Kenyon, Shawn Kenyon, and Kevin and Nicholas Johnson.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lebanon United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ray Teague and Dr. Terry Farmer will officiate. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Other times they will be at the home.
