Margie Irene Jones Smith, 78, of Reidsville, NC passed away at UNC Rockingham Hospital on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
A native of Caswell County, NC, she was the wife of Gary Smith, who survives and the daughter of James Paul Jones and Icee Burdell Roberts Jones, both deceased.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary “Dwayne” Smith and one brother.
Margie was a licensed insurance agent and secretary and always took much pride in performing her job. She loved vacationing at the beach and gardening in her younger years especially her flowers. Margie’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant everything to her.
In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include a son, Kevin Smith (Mitzi) of Reidsville; daughter, Ashley Russell (Michael) of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Constance Smith of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Jeremey Smith, Adam Smith, Kaden Smith, Chase Parnell, Addyson Parnell, Madison Russell, and McKinley Russell; four great grandchildren, Myla Gray, Kynlee, Maggie, and Kayce; 10 brothers; and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at Camp Springs Church on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
