BURLINGTON — Sandra Gail Russell Rice went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016. She was the wife of the Rev. William “Bill” Rice and the daughter of the late William and Hazel Russell of Burlington. She was a long time member of Glen Hope Baptist Church of Burlington. One of her greatest honors in life was serving beside her husband as he ministered in many churches in North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Alaska.
The service to celebrate her life will be conducted at Glen Hope Baptist Church, 911 North Avenue, Burlington, NC on Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Bob Stephenson and the Rev. Larry Redding. Interment will follow the service at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Staley, NC. The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Sykes Robertson of Burlington, stepson, Christopher Rice and wife Christi ofCedar Point, NC; sister, Nancy A. Russell of San Antonio, TX; brother, David S. Russell of Gulfport, MS; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Gideons International, Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, American Cancer Society, Glen Hope Baptist Church, Siloam Missionary Homes, or the charity of your choice.
