Nelline Parrish Cable


    BURLINGTON — Nelline Parrish Cable, 81, of 1011 Ava St., passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Cleveland County, she was the wife of Frank Preston Cable who survives and the daughter of the late Robert N. Parrish and the late Etta Harmon Parrish. She retired from Dan River Mills and was currently the "soda jerk" at Asher-McAdams Drug Company. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon.
    Other than her husband, of the home, she is survived by one daughter, Nancy Cable Sartin, of Elon; two sons, Ronnie P. Cable and Donnie F. Cable and his wife, Stephanie, all of Burlington; one sister, Orangel McDaniel, of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren,
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Faye Cable.
    The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church of Elon by the Rev. Terry Huffines and the Rev. Kristin Lassiter. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church of Elon on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of her daughter, Nancy Sartin, 743 Walker Road, Elon.
    Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Elon, 1630 Westbrook Ave., Elon, N.C. 27244.
