July 14, 1946 ~ August 11, 2022 (age 76)
Joyce Isley Allen, 76, of Gibsonville passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Carl Monroe Allen and the daughter of Fleet Worth Isley and Narva Stinson Isley, both deceased. Joyce graduated from Southern High School in 1964 and then completed training as an X-ray Technician. She worked as a Mammography Technician for many years prior to her retirement. Joyce was a member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church.
An artist in many forms, Joyce enjoyed painting and jewelry design, macrame and cross-stitch. She was a social butterfly with the Lunch Bunch, breast cancer advocate and
partner in retail therapy and adventures with cousin Catherine. She served as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at Fire Station #28 over the past 15 years.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Stafford and wife Cariann; granddaughters, MacKenzie Stafford and Haylee Martin; grandsons, Ethan Stafford and Nicholas Martin; great grandchildren, Nora Walton and Hudson Martin; and brothers, Lynn Isley and Michael Isley.
A memorial service will be conducted at Frieden’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Weather permitting, there will be a short trenching & flower planting ceremony of Joyce and her late husband’s cremains at their property in Gibsonville.
