Obituary Online notes for “Dot” Dorothy KING
BURLINGTON - Dorothy King "Dot" Woody, 96, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 21, 2014 at Clare Bridge of Burlington surrounded by her family. A native of Guilford County, she was born June 10, 1918, to the late Albert E. and Alma Huffines King, Sr. and was the wife of the late James Henry Woody.
Dot was one of the founders and charter members of Lakeview Community Church and the Ruth Faucette Women's Circle. She was also a member of the Lakeview Civitan Club. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by those whose life she touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Woody and friend Tom Wyrick of Burlington; sons, Darrell Woody and wife Audrey of Burlington and Dean Woody and wife Connie of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Todd Woody and wife Tammy, Suzanne Miles and husband David, Ken Woody and wife Connie, Alan Hall and wife, Jenifer; great grandchildren, Christopher Woody, Chelsea Woody, Jacob Miles, Joshua Miles, Kolbe Woody, Preston Hall, Austin Hall and a sister, Sue K. Farrell of Graham. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a granddaughter, René Woody; a sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Wyrick and brothers, Garland King, Albert E. King, Jr. and Jim King.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, November 24, 2014 at Lakeview Community Church by Rev. Gerald Sanders with the entombment to take place at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
