     Final rites for Lew Clifton "Bud" Hensley, 87, of 1107 Elm St., Burlington, were held today at Shallowford United Church of Christ by the Rev. Richard M. Peterson, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Ralph J. Wallace, pastor of Macedonia Lutheran Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
     Hensley died Saturday at Alamance County Hospital after two weeks of critical illness.
     Hensley was a farmer in the Shallowford Community, and was the son of the late Tom and Betty Satterfield Hensley. He was a member of Shallowford United Church of Christ.
     He was the husband of Gladys Hopkins Hensley and was first married to the late Mattie Ingle Hensley, who died in 1970.
     He is survived, in addition to his widow of the home, by his daughters, Mrs. James Hall of Rt. 3, Elon College and Mrs. Joe Moss of Gibsonville; sons, Russell, L. A., Wade and Clyde Hensley, all of Rt. 1, Elon College, J. V. Hensley of Rt. 10, Burlington; step-sons, Dalton Hensley of Silver Springs, Md., Wallace Hensley of Winston-Salem, and Allen Leonard of Burlington; step-daughters, Mrs. L. W. Polk of North Ridge, Calif., Mrs. Sarah Moore of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Nadine O'Reilly of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Audrey Jones and Mrs. Gayle McMasters, both of Burlington; brother, Herm D. Hensley of Burlington; 19 grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren.
