Mrs. Mattie Viola Hensley
     ELON COLLEGE - Mrs. Mattie Viola Ingle Hensley. 73, of Rt. 2. Elon College, died at 11:30 o'clock Sunday morning at her residence following nine weeks of critical illness. A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Hensley was the daughter of the late Van Ingle and Lula Sharpe Ingle.
     She was the wife of Lew Clifton "Bud" Hensley, who survives of the home.
     Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. James A. Hall of Rt. 1, Elon College, and Mrs. Joe Moss of Gibsonville; five sons, J. V. Hensley of Rt. 7, Burlington; L. A. Hensley and Russell Hensley, both of Rt. 1, Elon College; Clyde Hensley and Wade Hensley, both of Rt. 2, Elon College; six sisters, Mrs. Jessie Clapp, Mrs. Eu1a McPherson, Mrs. Bettha Scott,  Mrs. Avery Burke and Mrs. Carrie Wood, all of Burlington; Mrs. Delia Cantrell of Rt. 2, Burlington; two brothers, Eugene Ingle of Rt. 1, Burlington, and Marion Ingle of Burlington; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
     Final rites will be held at o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Shallowford United Church of Christ. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Richard Peterson, pastor, assisted by the Rep. William Cobb, pastor of Victory Baptist Church.
     The body was taken to the residence this morning to remain until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
