Mary Bell Hall Hensley
   ELON — Mary Bell Hall Hensley, 89, of 1084 N.C. 87 North, died Sunday, June 27, 2010.

   A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late L.A. Hensley and the daughter of the late Walter T. and Flossie White Hall.

   She was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church and a former member of Altamahaw Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and as a leader of the GA’s. She was formerly employed by Glen Raven Mills and later by Hensley Hosiery Mill, a family operated hosiery manufacturer.

   A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a fantastic cook, seamstress and gardener.

   She is survived by one son, Ronnie Lee Hensley and wife Sandy of Burlington; two daughters, Brenda Borst and husband Bill of Burlington and Cathy Holt and husband Michael of Elon; 10 grandchildren, Tim Hensley (Teresa), Patrick Hensley (Angelia), R. Andrew Hensley (Dawn), Billy Fred Brown III (Melodee), Wes Brown (Kellie), Ben Holt (Brandy), Christin Holt Self (Brad), Heather Holt, Anne Borst-Partin (Drew) and Justin Borst (Angie); 19 greatgrandchildren, Tara Hensley, Christopher Hensley, Taylor Hensley, Tyler Hensley, Mati Hensley, Gracie Hensley, Robbie Brown, Christian Brown, Jessica Brown, Alec Brown, Adin Holt, Bacie Self, Tori Adams, Haley Adams, Jacob Borst, Liam Partin, Laura Partin, Brittney Fritz, Kelsey Fritz; two great-greatgrandchildren, Kaylie Matkins and Oscar Adams: one brother, James A. Hall (Irene) and one sister, Lucy Hall Williamson.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Walter “Pete” Hall, Billy Hall, Adrian Hall, and Charlie Hall.

   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Shallow Ford Christian Church with Dr. Susan Perry and the Rev. Norman Fargis officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

   The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
