Leonard R. Shoffner
BURLINGTON — Mr. Leonard R. Shoffner, 84, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 1:43 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of 61 years to Sara B. Shoffner, who survives, and the son of Thomas Joyner Shoffner and Mary Nora Greeson Shoffner, both deceased. He retired from Westminster Construction and from the E.M. Holt Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and a charter member of the Alamance Pilots Association.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a sister, Osa Rea McAdoo; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Georgia May, Elizabeth Staley, Swannie Johnson, Maggie Lee Coble and Mazie Coulman; and two brothers, Richard Shoffner and Tommy Shoffner.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, April 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. J. Lloyd Spencer with the family receiving friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their gratitude to a special friend, John Fobanjong, and caregiver, Donna Jack, for their time and wonderful care given to Leonard.
