As told by her husband, Willie (an orphan child from Bluefield) came to White Gate in 1913 at 7 years old. She was raised by John and Maude Allen of White Gate.
Children: Judy (Feaganes), Barbara (Johnson), Dorothy (never married)

Mrs. Willie Gray Vest, 56, wife of James J. Vest of White Gate, Va. died Friday morning at the home.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Otis Feaganes of Mt. Rainier, Md., Miss Barbara Vest, Christiansburg, Va. and Miss Dorothy Vest, at home; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2PM from Walkers Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. F. T. Holland and the Rev. James Crabtree will officiate.
The body has been returned to the residence from A. Vest and Sons Funeral Home at White Gate, and will lie at rest in the church one hour preceding the rites. 470, Willie Gray Peery Vest
