BURLINGTON — Mrs. Brenda O. Petty, 53, of 546 Hickory Lane, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell after 1* years of declining health, and a critical illness of one week.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Robert S. “Steve” Petty, who survives, and the daughter of Leroy and Edna Thomas Odell, who both survive. She was employed with Carolina Biological Supply for 34 years and was a member of City Lake Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home and her parents of Burlington include two daughters, Mrs. Kristi Smith Brown of Stokesdale and Ms. Stephanie Blair Petty of the home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. W.T. Cockman, interim pastor of City Lake Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.


The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 4 to 6 this evening.
